Crossword 3 in Ours - 1 year ago
Hi all, anyone else having trouble with question 10 in Crossword 3 or am I just being dim? No surprise if the latter!!by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Happy 2019 comping! - 5 years ago
Thanks Mike, and the same to you. Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Check your emails! - 5 years ago
Good advice Deborah. I do the same monthly with the word search, and stopped deleting "old" emails automatically for the same reason. Just do a more careful clearout roughly quarterly. Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: June 2018 Daily Quiz winner - many thanks - 5 years ago
There's a small amount of luck in being chosen, but well done in being able to get all the answers correct to put you in contention in the first place - don't think I've achieved that for months! Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Number of comps entered before a win - 5 years ago
Hi. I agree with Deborah. I was fortunate enough to win a holiday and £1000 cash two years ago (as it happens neither of them through this site) but have only won a few minor prizes since then. I enter about 400 a month, and am ever hopeful! Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Thank you - 5 years ago
Thank you CC. I opened an envelope yesterday (2nd May) to see I had won April's Star Shaker and was receiving a £25 cheque - I hadn't even had time to check the site for that day's question and last moth's results so it was a great surprise. Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Wednesday's Where in the World - 5 years ago
Don't want to be picky for the sake of it, but you asked for the French title of the the location and the garden is "Les Jardins St Martin", not "The Jardin St Martin", which includes an English "the" and a singular Jardin!by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Open The Box - 6 years ago
Fair play for owning up John - since the winners aren't named we would never have known! Good luck for the future ones too! Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Daily Quiz Question 27 - 6 years ago
Hi. That was my first thought too. It is only when you look wider that you see he is recognised particularly for one of them, and that was the result of his training rather than practice after "falling into" the other. Took me a few minutes to reassure myself, though. Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Complog. - 6 years ago
Hi. No, I've got used to it now - it was the lack of reveal on hover over the quickl links before you added the solutions on the left which kept baffling me ... easily done! Thanksby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Complog. - 6 years ago
Thank you - still a bit confusing for this technophobe, but I can see the entries I am making are being loggedby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Where in the World Wednesday 21 Feb - 6 years ago
Hello all. Might just be me but I am pretty sure an incorrect picture has been used today. Might as well say that I think the answer needs to be Hampton Court Castle (in Herefordshire where the SAS are based), but a picture of the gatehouse at Hampton Court Palace (near London) has been used by mistake. Re: Conundrum - 6 years ago
It was me what won it (to pinch from the scripts of Ernie Wise), but I hadn't cottoned on to gathering all the letters from each clue town. I'd Googled a list of 10-letter towns and was simply entering each day one of those which contained all initials from my answers - I had Coggeshall as the last potential on my list before Eccleshall secured it!by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Conundrum - 6 years ago
I agree Sally. I was expecting to be able to solve the conundrum from the 6 answers we were asked to collect, not rely on two extra clues leading us to an answer which may end up being a random partial anagram! Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Conundrum - 6 years ago
Glad I saw your comment Lesley about the "D". I'll just work through my list of 10 letter towns too! I was expecting something totally different than what "they" asked for the answer to the conundrum. In fact after day 3 I was certain I knew the answer!! Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Value of prizes to be won - 6 years ago
The recent arrival of the pay-to-enter competition to win the Millionaire's house and lifestyle has boosted our prize value fund by over £2million. I wonder how "poor" we will feel when it comes off the list on 1st December! Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
July Star Shaker - 6 years ago
A big thank you to all at CC for my July Star Shaker £25 cheque which I happily banked last week! Keep up the good work. Warrenby TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Quick link & log (hover for answer). - 7 years ago
I had a few days, I think the week before last, where I entered some competitions, but when I came back to the site what had been crossed out the day before was active again, and I fell foul of entering a competition twice before realising. I then had to click the link to each comp and remember if I had entered it or not until I got to the new ones. Certainly frustrating, but nothing more in theby TeddyG - UK Forum
Daily Quiz Question 18 - 8 years ago
Is it me or is the correct answer not in the list of options today?by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder Hiccups on 1st June - 9 years ago
Thanks Rolysb. That's a shame - with not being able to keep up with the comps from last month I thought I might stand a chance to accelerate during June using the backlog! Didn't realise "they" were equalising the chances so much.by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Ladder Hiccups on 1st June - 9 years ago
Hi there. I've just entered 29 comps and my coin total increased correctly as I added each one to my CompLog. However, I have still not appeared on the ladder. I take it that my entries will catch up on the ladder at some point? Thanks.by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Is there anybody here? - 10 years ago
I am sure it must have been a glitch. I was lucky enough to win the monthly quiz one month last year and got my cheque before I had had time to check the answers and winner's name!by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
Re: Organised comping?! - 10 years ago
HI Pippin, I pretty much do the same thing and certainly agree about backlogs - i tend to check the comps entering today and soon first to make sure I haven't missed anything and then set myself target dates to work forward to to minimise the backlog risk later!by TeddyG - General Competition Chat
