4th December - Enter our Where in the World contest and win £25 ! - 8 years ago
What is the name of the hamlet where this Hall is located - a good place for priests to play hide-and-seek ? Think I've got the answer but am I the only one who doesn't get the clue?by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Quiz 22/11 - 8 years ago
Well this is CC's answer:- 22. Strictly John but we accepted Jack and any of the other answers as this question was thrown in to cause some confusion! I am lucky enough to be November's winner so I'm happy anyway.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Daily Quiz Questions - 8 years ago
Roly - why is anyone entering the Daily Quiz Questions more than once such an issue to you? Only first answers are accepted so apart from the fact that a question might have been missed the first time round, it is no advantage to the person doing it. I can't for the life of me understand why it matters to you. It doesn't affect you in any way, shape or form. It's not the firstby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Quiz 22/11 - 8 years ago
I'm baffled too - I've looked up all the principal actors in all the film versions and none of them meet all criteria.by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Competition in ‘Holidays’ section – Theatre break in Blackpool – CC answer ‘Pamela Anderson’. Their link takes you to ‘Win 2 Free Nights at Whitley Hall in Yorkshire'. Presumably the correct link is:by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder points and coins - 8 years ago
Hi FerneH After an initial, quite long lived craze regarding ladder points, including lots of sometimes quite heated posts in the forum (me as guilty as anyone), there are very few regular CC compers who care about or even look at the ladder anymore. There is just no point. The only reward is that the more points you achieve, the more coins you have to enter the Open The Box competition. Yoby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Where's the competitions - 8 years ago
Apart from 'Our Competitions', Competitor's Companion rarely posts new comps over the weekend (their postal address is an accountant's office and my guess is they post most of the competitions during office hours). I like this system because it gives me chance to catch upby Pippin - General Competition Chat

Thanks Deborah. That's incredible, Den. Well done to youby Pippin - General Competition Chat
My lucky morning - 8 years ago
No big prize wins out there in the big prize world lately but, after methodically having a go in the Open The Box competition every 30 minutes and winning the four bags of coins, I've just won the garden voucher on my 24th and final go. Yippee. And...I've just found out I've won £25 in the August general knowledge quiz as well. Going out now to buy a lottery ticket (after I'by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: DOES ANYBODY ACTUALLY WIN? - 8 years ago
During the first year I won some mega prizes but have won practically nothing for a couple of years. It does become disheartening. Not going to give up just yet though.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: July Quiz - 8 years ago
Here's a make-do answer until someone can give you a proper answer. There was a photo of a man (I've forgotten who it was) and the question was something like, which university did he either not study at or not teach at?by Pippin - UK Forum

Thanks Kris and Aldonza - never did get the new bed - thank you both for watchingby Pippin - Off Topic Forum
Re: Two Tribes - 8 years ago
Thank you so much for watching, Deborah and thank you for your kind words. The final fell just right for me - had it been most other subjects and I wouldn't have had such a good chance. Unfortunately the new bed never materialised and the old one is still going boing boing in the middle of the night. The BBC put the £1000 directly into our current account - we should have taken it outby Pippin - Off Topic Forum
Re: Two Tribes - 8 years ago
Thank you Deborah. Though I beg to differ about the 'celebrity' bit. I just totally love the whole process - from going to the auditions and meeting lots of like-minded people, usually in a nice hotel in Manchester, to very occasionally getting to go on an all expenses paid trip to take part in the actual TV programme - usually in London. I know what you mean about nerves but everyonby Pippin - Off Topic Forum
Re: Two Tribes - 8 years ago
Hi Deborah Well this will be my 12th television quiz show appearance and whether I've done well or disastrously, I've always let friends and acquaintances know the broadcast date - as the producers encourage us to do.by Pippin - Off Topic Forum

Two Tribes - 8 years ago
Completely random post, I know, but I'm going to be on Two Tribes with Richard Osman this Sunday afternoon (26th July) - BBC2, 4.30pm. "I'm Lesley, a secretary from Nantwich in Cheshire". Pippinby Pippin - Off Topic Forum
Re: C C members competition results - 8 years ago
Looks like the current 'Open The Box' competition to win a garden voucher will go on forever. No one wants to waste their CC Coins on a competition that's effectively already been won.by Pippin - UK Forum
Re: Incorrect answers - 8 years ago
Just zoomed over to this page to report the Ralph Lauren boo boo. Den's beat me to it. We could start our own comp - first one to report the mistake.by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Incorrect link Michelin star dinner - Marcus Wareing Prize is actually for £229. I think the answer should be 'a third'by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Quiz 24 May - 8 years ago
Eventually found a character this actor played that had one of the first names listed - lawyer though, not a detective. Chose that name anyway. Thanks for highlighting this matter, Deborahby Pippin - UK Forum
Re: DOES ANYBODY ACTUALLY WIN? - 8 years ago
It always seems strange to me that you have to give your age. I hope middle aged people like myself aren't being discriminated against. Maybe it is so they can choose what gumph to bombard you with once you have given them your email address.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: 500 comps/3,000 entries per week - anyone do more ? - 8 years ago
Wow lizziejayne - that is dedication. I literally only enter the competitions on this site and, in 3 years, have won about £2000 cash, 2 short holidays, about 4 prizes worth roughly £200 each (including designer shoes) plus over 20 small rubbishy prizes. Surely you're due a decent win soon.by Pippin - UK Forum

Re: Is it THAT important? - 8 years ago
To be honest Roly, I did think you were having a go at me and felt the need to defend myself. As you have made it clear that you weren't, I apologise. I still don't understand why the 'like clockwork' person is upsetting you but now accept that this is none of my business. Good luck and best wishes to you too.
