Re: The Ladder - 10 years ago
Okay - I might try that. Obviously it won't be 'the numbers game' that entering the comps. on Competitor's Companion is (never counted but I wouldn't be surprised if I enter 100 per week). Having said that, if less people enter postal comps., I suppose there's more chance of winning.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: DOES ANYBODY ACTUALLY WIN? - 10 years ago
In April I will have been entering EVERY competition on this site for 2 years and so far won £1000 cash, £25 cash x 2, a holiday to Butlins, Bognor Regis, a two night stay at the Derby Starlights Holiday Inn plus Derby Feste tickets, concert tickets for Olly Murs, Professor Green, Womad, The Wanted, McFly and Richard Hawley, £215 worth of Liz Earle make-up, VIP trip to Manchester Airport for a guby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: The Ladder - 10 years ago
20+ years ago I used to receive the 'Competitor's Companion' magazine which I believe is not related to this site at all. This magazine gave lists of slogan competitions which I entered by postcard. I had a moderate amount of success - my best prize ever was a pair of diamond earrings valued at £1500 then (won with Vienetta ice-cream!) Re: The Ladder - 10 years ago
Good point - Netpence. I've always entered all the comps. though, which is a bit of a slog every week but it has been worth it. In April I will have been doing this for 2 years and so far won £1000 cash, £25 cash x 2, a holiday to Butlins, Bognor Regis, a two night stay at the Derby Starlights Holiday Inn plus Derby Feste tickets, concert tickets for Olly Murs, Professor Green, Womad, Theby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: The Ladder - 10 years ago
Well in the past week or so I've gone from 3rd to 14th on the ladder even though I'm entering every single competition on the site (even doing the phantasy football now). I'm getting ever further away from the leader, points wise, as well (now 900 points). It's getting a bit disheartening.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: CC Coins / Ladder points not updating ? - 10 years ago
I have noticed you don't get points for entering 'our competitions' but I seem to be getting points for everything elseby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: The Ladder - 10 years ago
I've entered literally every competition on CC and I'm in fifth place - still 500 points behind the leader - so I don't know how they do it eitherby Pippin - General Competition Chat

Re: Phantasy Share Competition - 10 years ago
Well done. I was lying 5th for most of the time but slipped down the list when I went on holiday. Still exciting seeing my name on the list. Hope you enjoy spending the £50 on a treat for yourself.by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Yes, miketerry - I do this too. I think pressing the entered button is the only way to 'cross everything off the list'by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Yes - this happens to me too, so what I do is click the "Click if you want us to remember that you have entered this competition" whether I've entered the competition or whether I'm not interested in itby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: My One Year Anniversary With Competitors' Companion - 10 years ago
Hi Jenni JJ I used to trawl round shops looking for leaflets too. Most of the competitions I did in those days were slogan competitions. I did have a couple of nice wins - diamond earrings and some wine - but I don't do the slogan comps anymore - too much like hard work. I suppose if you're good at slogans though, the chances of winning are probably higher than from the prize draws.by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Re: My One Year Anniversary With Competitors' Companion - 10 years ago
Glad to hear you're winning, Ricahrd, albeit steadily. Wading through junk emails has now become an occupational hazzard - but I suppose it's the price we have to payby Pippin - General Competition Chat
My One Year Anniversary With Competitors' Companion - 10 years ago
Next week will be my one year anniversary with Competitors' Companion. I enter every single competition on the site except the 'Pay To Enter' and 'Skill' categories and this takes about 1 hour a day, 5 days a week. I have kept a record of every single thing I have won so I can monitor whether it's worth carrying on. The best prizes I have won (that I have been aby Pippin - General Competition Chat

Re: Does Anybody have tips ? - 11 years ago
the same happens with me - it's annoying because now you can't go 'back' and re-enter the same comp more than once unless you re-type all the info again. no idea why they've done thisby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: spam email - 11 years ago
Since I've been doing competitions, I have been inundated with marketing newsletters. However, I don't tick the 'no' box. I don't tick any box unless it's compulsory. I would rather spend the time doing more competitions than reading the small print. I do, however, have a completely independent email address that I use for competitions and nothing else. Re: newbie help please - 11 years ago
I joined Competitors Companion on 19th April 2012 and enter all competitions on their site except the ones under the two tabs on the right (slogan and pay). As I'm entering the different company's competitions, I always agree to subscribe to their newsletters. This means I'm receiving 10+ newsletters a day which I quickly scan for more competitions before deleting them (just in cby Pippin - UK Forum
