This town, which has a connection with the picture, has a Guildhall that dates from the 15th century. The town is the former home town of a celebrity chef who is known for speaking his mind. There used to be an RAF station a couple of miles from the town and one of the people who served there in the 1940s went on to be a very successful science fiction writer. What is the name of the town ? Well it's Stratford-upon-Avon but please can you let me know who the sci-fi author is. Arthur C Clarke didn't serve at RAF Stratford/RAF Atherstone

So much for Wikipedia then that says he was at RAF Yatesbury in Wiltshire and RAF Honiley in Warwickshire in the 1940s, both more than 2 miles away.

But he is listed as 'other notable resident' in Wiki's Stratford page - 'served with the RAF at RAF Stratford during the 1940s'

At least Wiki is more reliable than AI!

You wouldn't think that the same organisation would give you conflicting information!
