Alert for new comments

Would it be possible to maybe alert members when a new comment is posted on the forum please? Thank you.

I'm just in the middle of re writing the forum software so that's possible.
What sort of notification would you want?

I'd rather it stayed as it is. Given the choice of clicking on the forum tab when (or even if) you're interested to see if there's a new post or having something pop up when you log in I'd take the first option all the time. Nothing more annoying than pop ups!

Any type really. As the forum's not used all that often, it wouldn't be popping up all that often. Thanks.
