Re: Riddle Race - 9 years ago
Afternoon Deborah. Did you ever receive an answer from Competitors Companion when you were credited with a 'phantom' Two Lovers/One Chance win on Riddle Race? As I've mentioned earlier it appears our webmaster ukinet has left the room. Nothing from him/her since last September. The site is still running, thanks to the stalwarts who list the competitions each day. However a feby rolysb - UK Forum
Re: Riddle Race - 9 years ago
That's it; I'm out. The Riddle Race is a farce. The latest one asks name the late actress. The answer could be one of several, and with only one entry every 24 hours it is extremely difficult who to choose. After all, there have been notable actresses for well over 100 years. I found five with the 4 and 6 letters. So it really is pot luck. I'll free myself of the time-wasting and cby rolysb - UK Forum

Yep Den, that's right: Phillips Accountants. Click on About Us at the foot of the page for more info. Also here’s another link Good luck. PS: Have you clicked the Gold Clue icon at the top of the page? Interesting info there too.by rolysb - Suggestions

Re: Riddle Race - 9 years ago
Hi Deborah. The answer was Sissy Spacek but could have been one of 11 that I found with 5 and 6 letters, and with only one entry per day it is a pot luck lottery. This is obviously not a competition. It really is a pick your answer and hope for the best. It's so boring now. Good luck with all your real comps.by rolysb - UK Forum

Hi Deborah. Yes I agree with your comments re the Out Of Africa riddle. I note that nothing has changed since my post of February 18, immediately above yours today. Everyone at Competitors Companion Mansion have taken a pledge of silence! Problems and annoyances with the site remain. Rolyby rolysb - UK Forum

Re: Riddle Race - 9 years ago
Hi Goose. The actress answer was Wendy Craig. Unfortunately when the new competition was announced (late actor) the answer was indicated by 3 and 7 dashes. I made a guess but shortly afterwards the dashes changed to 3 and 8. Of course I was then blocked from entering until the next day. There are so many things wrong or neglected with Competitors Companion right now and it seems we no loby rolysb - UK Forum

Hi Deborah. My sentiments exactly. Honesty is the best policy Incidentally did you really expect a reply to your post? It appears that there is probably no one currently monitoring the Forum, since the most recent response was made last September. Well done Netpence. What a great bounty in just one month. But 1st day of a new month and the Ladder chase goes on and on and . . . Happy comping folks!by rolysb - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Good afternoon Deborah. Nice of you to be the first, as I expected, to respond to my post. Do I really make acerbic replies? Well, I hadn't noticed although I always endeavour to be forthright! We have to enjoy life don't we? Well you invited me to comment again, so let's see. Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Further to my earlier post. I don't believe it! Must lead the Ladder at all costs appears to be the motto. So because it is possible to enter all the January Daily Questions yet again this morning (Saturday) that is just what someone has done. Answering the same questions three times rather than just once and claiming the relevant points. That is unbelievable and in my view pitifulby rolysb - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Did you read my post above dated December 31, 2014? It's the end of the month again. I stand by what I have said a number of times before that the Ladder is irrelevant and unimportant, but tonight I couldn't believe what I was seeing from around 11.30pm. The leader on the Ladder was repeatedly adding 5 points to their 'score' and in a short while found an extra 155 pointby rolysb - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder points and coins - 9 years ago
Hi Aldonzo. To answer your query: something did happen. If you look above the boxes there is a grid/rules which tells you what each box might contain. Either some coins, or a voucher, or nothing. When you click on the box it reveals your 'prize'. Unfortunately you won nothing this time. Regarding Admin - there has been no response since September despite attempts to contact them. Hello Pippin. Happy New year. Loopholes you say? Well I thought you had the knack of finding loopholes on here. Yes, there have been a few but it seems they have now been rounded up and dealt with. From recent Forum posts, it seems that users of the site are not fully reading the information that is posted to be informative and helpful when navigating the website. Re: Well done - 9 years ago
Come come, Deborah. You are labelling me as mysterious. Far from it. I merely observe all around me - it is surprising what you sometimes overlook. A perfect example is that you are somewhat baffled with the January Rebus. You have expressed your exasperation in this forum. There is no loophole. I cannot imagine where you possibly got that idea from! You ask me where did I learn about yby rolysb - General Competition Chat

Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
As I have said more than once on this thread, The Ladder has little importance, and the points have no value. But its existence still makes it intriguing. Users have said they are drawn to it to check their progress. That's fine - but when someone finds a 'loophole' which really isn't a loophole, but an opportunity to 'bend the rules' to gain extra points, is that imby rolysb - General Competition Chat

Re: 'Our Competitions' - 9 years ago
Deborah - that has become a regular occurrence lately. Often two Star Shaker questions appear within a short period. Subsequently one cannot be answered. Today I notice that the 'Frankie Bridge' answer passed me by even though I did enter the comp yesterday. That is so frustrating when one tries to enter each day's competition. Re: Ladder points and coins - 9 years ago
I agree with kevincharley - totally. The old and proven method was far better. The site has become less interesting since there has been unnecessary 'tampering' with many elements. I did attempt (via PM) to draw attention to some of the things that needed addressing within the site, however my comments were rebuffed. I decided a while ago to disregard the meaningless Ladder and Poby rolysb - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder points and coins - 9 years ago
It seems unlikely that things are going to change. I'll go along with the comments from cirruscloud, Trishab and Den on September 5. Entering competitions is the 'name of the game'. Coins, Points, Games, various Phantasies etc are bonuses for those who want them; however they were never the purpose of Competitors Companion. Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Yes Pippin, ukinet did say that. However, it is not working for everyone. Hence there are currently 90 users out of 100 on the Ladder who have not yet reached 50 points. Incidentally ukinet also said that the Ladder is temporarily suspended!by rolysb - General Competition Chat

Re: Ladder points and coins - 9 years ago
Hi ukinet, thanks for the update. If you check my Complog+ you will find that I have entered at least six competitions today (22nd). I have used both methods, ie the competition link and the Small Quick Link Icon on the list page. In both instances neither my CC Coins or Points totals have changed. Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Great news! Welcome back home Mrs Ukinet. Keep your OH in check! Regarding the Ladder. For me when entering 'Ours' I get five points for each competition. Entering any other competition and no points are registered. Usually as soon as a comp link is clicked, four points are gained. This no longer happens.
