Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
It never fails to amaze me how much controversy The Ladder causes! I'm sometimes disappointed as there are no new related comments on the forum. How sad is that!!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat

Trishab, message from ukinet , under the post 'Ladder':- 'Probably my fault. I made a change 'again' last weekend to plug a hole but may have messed things up. Then I had to take my partner to the hospital and I've been there with her all week, she had to have an operation yesterday and I've just not had the chance to even check things. Re: recent competition errors & problems - 9 years ago
I've had 2 or 3 and have reported them at the time. C.C. can't be held responsible for the competition closing early, I believe a lot of sites show the option to close early in their Ts&Cs Similarly, the submit button not working may be a problem with the server OR you could try using a different browser OR sometimes I've noticed the button doesn't appear to work butby kevincharley - UK Forum
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Rise above it Pippin! I noticed that I'd shot up from about 17th to 9th and I'd only entered a couple of competitions so I obviously found it too, but goodness only knows where!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat

Re: Very big change - 9 years ago
Hi. Just logged out and back in but strikethrough still not visible. I'm wondering, because of the points/coins system, whether anyone uses/needs the ignore facility? Trying to offer an easier option but no doubt someone will disagree with me!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Very big change - 9 years ago
Thanks Den. I can now state I'm using version 11.0.10. Hope this helps. I have a vision of poor Ukinet sitting in a corner, rocking gently. Tomorrow will be better!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat

Re: Very big change - 9 years ago
Hi Just noticed the Complog button appears to having a hissy fit. The competition line is turning pink, but no strikethrough is showing. The coins are being added. Something else to keep you busy for a while... Thanks, I appreciate the work you put in on our behalf, I know we're a bunch of whingers at times!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat

Good luck BECKYN13, hope something comes your way soon. It's a great feeling when you do win, although my prize yesterday didn't exactly prompt me to do cartwheels. I won a bottle of Flash!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat

I wouldn't be posting this if I wasn't certain of my facts BUT my facts don't seem to add up! Has anyone else done the week 3 crossword and come up with an instrument that is mis-spelt?by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: DOES ANYBODY ACTUALLY WIN? - 9 years ago
I can only comment on what I've seen happen with a postcard draw run by a nursery supplies company I've worked at. This really was a random, pick-a-card-out-of-a-black-bin-liner decision. The only other one I've known about was a limerick competition and this was judged, not a random selection. So not much help for the online competitions! Was this in response to my post? If so, either I've not been very clear or you've misunderstood the point. Can't agree with this. Some of my wins have come on the back of last minute entries. I think it's too random to predict when the 'best' time iby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: New feature coming soon! - 9 years ago
I've just had need to look at the Scratchpad. As I see it, the only way to check if a competition has been listed on CC previously (and thus, entered) is by running through the whole list. The only information that appears to be in any logical order is 'log date'. When I'm checking the only 2 solid facts are a) the company running the competition and b) the closing date. Re: Tv Comps - 9 years ago
I recently won with a postcard entry to a Channel 5 drama competition. When I received the initial phone call I didn't take it too seriously, thought it may have been a wind up, but once my name appeared on the winners list I realised that, yes, I was one of the very lucky ones.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat

Re: Games - 9 years ago
Hello. Very pleased that something is happening on the 'coins' front. When you say it's 'under test' does this mean that the prizes aren't for real yet? What I don't understand is, if the same boxes are showing to everyone, which I assume they are as a lot seem to be already 'opened', then a game isn't going to last very long if lots of us pby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
