Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Hi roly - you old scallywag. There's obviously a way, apart from just entering the comps., but I'm yet to discover it. Happy comping xxby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
But what are these 'various ways'? They are supposably unobtainable at the moment. I've tried clicking everything like a mad woman, but to no avail. What's your secret, roly?by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
'Kevin'. I suppose a last minute competition might be added to 'competitions ending today' and then slip under my radar. Like you say, that's the only explanation. I love your philosophy. And congratulations on your prize win - I love hearing about people's wins. I won two short breaks in this country last year but still I'm waiting for my next.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Thanks for the info, Netpence. I'll start lookingby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Not at all, Kevin. Though now you come to mention it, roly's gone ahead of me by the equivalent of 3 competitions (12 points). I have absolutely no idea how this has happened as I've kept completely up-to-date with every single competition since the reset at the beginning of May.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Good point about the lottery, Netpence. Do you enter slogan competitions or are they prize draws? I'm seriously thinking about doing the same.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Hi Netpence. I 'won' the Welsh Festival tickets too - looks like a lot of people did! It looks like postal entries are more lucrative, though more 'effort' than Internet comps. and you're probably spending about £15 a month on stamps. I'm guessing these are prize draws and not slogan comps. which seem much rarer than they used to be?by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Wow Netpence - that's brilliant. Do you generally have more success with postal competitions?by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Hi Netpence - new Ladder so let's see what happens now. I have been a member of CC for two years now and have won 25 prizes. Best prizes have been £1000 cash, two short holidays in this country, £215 worth of Liz Earle make-up, VIP trip to Manchester Airport to visit Concorde including lunch for 4, a pair of designer shoes plus loads of festival/gig tickets. Things have been very lean sinby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Okay - I accept we're on a level playing field but I sincerely don't understand how you could have possibly entered 29 more competitions than me. I work at my computer, day in, day out, with CC just a click away. I constantly check that all comps. are entered. Anyway - I'm going to let it go now because (and I know I'm stating the bleeding obvious here), I'm a member oby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Hi roly. It's is now Thursday 1st May 2014 and the time is 12. . I have entered every single competition available and double checked that every single one has got a line through it via 'Latest competitions', 'Competitions expiring today', and 'Competitions expiring soon', plus the individual tabs (Cars through to Skill) plus 'Ours', even thoughby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 10 years ago
At the time of my last post (when I was 144 points behind you), I was 100% up-to-date with the competitions. There were no more, anywhere, to be entered. Since then, more have appeared which I have entered this afternoon and this evening. I'm now in touch with you again on the ladder. The only explanation for this is that some members have access to the competitions before others.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 10 years ago
Well rolysb, I've been a steady 40 to 50 points behind you on the ladder for a month now (never truly understood why). I, almost addictively, enter every single competition every day and double check I haven't missed any. Now, overnight, you've gone 140+ points ahead of me. I wish I knew your secret.by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Prize money - CC's 'Own' Competitions - 10 years ago
Glad to see you back, ukinet. I posted the following thread under Bounty's topic, 'Is there anybody here?' (General Competition Chat) on 5th April 2014. I'd really appreciate an answer. 'Since being a member of Competitors Companion, I have won the Daily Quiz Competition 4 times. However, I only received a cheque 2 out of the 4 times. Re: Ladder - 10 years ago
Well, Roly, I have entered every single comp., I have double checked by going into 'Latest', 'Expiring today' and 'Expiring soon' as well as the individual tabs. I've clicked 'everything' like a woman possessed (links, adverts, profile, contact etc etc), and still I'm gradually getting further behind you (a few points everyday). Beats me.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: a bit quiet - 10 years ago
Hi Rolysb - there are very rarely any new comps on a Saturday or Sunday - just 'ours' and the Telegraph holiday one. That's the way it's always been. Usually Mondays are quiet as well. Tuesdays to Fridays are when the comps appear on mass. At least we have the weekend to catch up. Wish I could work out how you're edging away from my on The Ladder, rolysb, even though I'm up-to-date with every single competition. Guess you know which buttons to pressby Pippin - General Competition Chat
