Re: My lucky morning - 8 years ago
Den, I'm coming to live at your house. Congratulations! My luck is a little thin at present. My last win was a set of motorcycle tyres. Unfortunately they don't fit either of our bikes. Typical!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: My lucky morning - 8 years ago
Nice one! It's a great feeling when you get a little run of luck. Long may it continue!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Incorrect answers - 8 years ago
Once again, apologies for the late advice. Home cinema system - Smooth Radio Closes on 30 Aug 2015 The Tallyllyn opened in 1866 which, by my reckoning is the 19th century, not the 18th as suggested by the crack team at C.C.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Incorrect answers - 8 years ago
Things seemed to improve for a little while but in the last couple of days I've noticed 3 incorrect answers. Apologies for not bringing the first 2 to your attention but they were pretty obvious and it was impossible for you to give an incorrect answer as the suggestion from C.C. wasn't one of the given options. (In both competitions the suggested answer was Texas but the options wereby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Spam emails since joining CC - 8 years ago
Ah! That's the difference. I never used the CC email account, I was too suspicious of it. and now I'm glad I didn't. Sorry you're having so many problems. Up until 12 months ago I'd have advised reporting it to the administrators but recently we've had something of a communication blackout and we seem to have been cast out, bobbing along on our own with a teaspoonby kevincharley - UK Forum
Re: Spam emails since joining CC - 8 years ago
Someone I used to know joined and complained she received a lot of phishing emails too. I can't hazard a guess as to why some people seem to receive more than others. Sorry.by kevincharley - UK Forum
Re: Spam emails since joining CC - 8 years ago
I get a lot of emails but not many of what term as spam. The Barclays/Natwest/HMRC/Paypal kind of spam seems to come in bursts, I'll get several for a week or so and then it'll tail off for a while. Yes, I get a lot of mail from the companies offering the prizes and a lot of people would class these as junk but as they very often contain links for other competitions I have no probleby kevincharley - UK Forum

C.C. at it's best: Win a 'PGL adventure holiday for your child' Closes on 24 Aug 2015 Answer the question in this At Home contest and you can win a fabulous seven night stay for 7-16 year olds at any UK centre. The answer is: a) Parents Get Lost Oh no it's not! Taken from PGL's website: 'Although children often refer to us as 'Parents Get Lost&by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: LINKS - 8 years ago
Miketerry, looking at the leaderboard you can see I'm way behind with my entries and I'm reporting at least one problem a day. So, if you're reporting errors early then it rather looks as though you are wasting your time. I've recently signed up to a different site where any enquiry is replied to within 24 hours, problems are rectified and a professionally worded apologyby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: DOES ANYBODY ACTUALLY WIN? - 8 years ago
Like others I have also had a pretty lean spell this year although it may only seem so as I had such a mega year last year. It is a very time consuming and, at times, frustrating hobby but the prizes, when they come are - in the main - worth the wait. Minty, I don't know what competitions you're entering that generate the phone calls, I haven't had a problem with that and I enby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: 'Our Competitions' - 8 years ago
This was posted on 14 July: Hi I have received emails regarding Take a break & wanted to let everyone know that it will be resuming shortly. As stated by rolysb above TV competitions like ITV are very rarely accepting online entries which is why there are not as many competitions as there used to be. Please note I'm constantly checking sites like ITV or Channel 4 for the latest comby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
July Quiz - 8 years ago
Would someone help me out, please, by telling me what the question was on 6 July? Answer was University of Bristol. Thanks.by kevincharley - UK Forum
Re: Two Tribes - 8 years ago
Lesley, I caught the show earlier. It's the first time I've watched Two Tribes and what a brilliant ending, you were so positive with your answers in the final. You were a deserving winner. I'll give Tipping Point some thought - maybe I'll see you there?by kevincharley - Off Topic Forum
Re: Two Tribes - 8 years ago
Wow, you're becoming quite the celebrity! Don'y you get nervous? I've phoned in to radio shows before and I've gone completely to pieces and come across as a total numpty. Good luck in any future appearances.by kevincharley - Off Topic Forum
Re: Two Tribes - 8 years ago
As you already know the outcome I'm guessing you did rather well in which case, well done!by kevincharley - Off Topic Forum
Re: Two Tribes - 8 years ago
Wishing you good luck for Sunday Lesley, hope all goes well for you. You're a lot braver than me!by kevincharley - Off Topic Forum
Re: C C members competition results - 8 years ago
Thanks Mr B. I still can't recall the picture despite being told what it was. Hope the wins are rolling in for you, there certainly aren't many making it to my front door. I think 2014 must have been the pinnacle of my comping career!by kevincharley - UK Forum
Re: C C members competition results - 8 years ago
It's back! The Rebus returneth! Congratulations Julie Barry, (from my home town, good to see a fellow Lancastrian take the honours) we've waited a long time for the announcement so let's have a little fanfare! In fact we've waited so long I've forgotten what the last clue was. I can remember I got it wrong though. The first picture was a cricketer, what was theby kevincharley - UK Forum
Re: 'Our Competitions' - 8 years ago
Further to my post on 6 June I have today received an email from April. (fanfare, please!) 'Thank you for your email as i don't run those competitions i will ask about them & do my best to give a time when they will start up again & post the details on the forum as i receive them.' Helpful or what? If the MD of the company doesn't know what's going oby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Take a Break - 8 years ago
Probably because they've forgotten, like they've forgotten to announce last month's Rebus & Riddle winners.by kevincharley - UK Forum
Re: 'Our Competitions' - 8 years ago
Shanners, I've been wondering the same for a while. After Den's post I whipped off an email to both April and Andy, to which I've received no reply, asking for an explanation and an apology. It seems to me that, possibly, the reins of the family run business have been handed over and the new team couldn't care less. Before April started to ignore my emails she wrote this:by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: 'Our Competitions' - 8 years ago
Den, looking back it seems they are added manually (or manulally!) but it all seems to be too much for 'them' today. They must be too busy checking that all the answers are correct, that the links work and that the closing dates are correct...by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 8 years ago
Re: the Riddle Race. I'm amazed how many I've answered correctly but haven't actually won. It seems to take admin up to 24 hours to admit that someone has guessed correctly thus wasting my time entering. Hey-ho! Nothing surprises me any more.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 8 years ago
I think there are fewer and fewer of us that care about the leader board, hence, probably, the lack of comments.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
