Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Seeing as you have to enter the competitions to achieve the ladder points, the two things go hand in hand. You make it sound as though watching your progress on the ladder lessens your chances of winning competitions - the exact opposite is surely true because following the ladder encourages you to enter ever competition available. I'm sure that's why CC started the ladder in the firsby Pippin - General Competition Chat

Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Yes roly - you must be right. Last month I decided to divulge the loophole to CC and then offered to have my excessive ladder points docked, because I'd just got bored with it all. There's a certain satisfaction in discovering a loophole in the first place, but it soon wears thin. I will however, keep looking for this month's!by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Mystery Prize? - 9 years ago
This week I received a brand new, hardback copy of Raffaella Barker's novel, 'From A Distance' in the post. The address label on the cardboard packaging is hand written and has 'Bloomsbury Publishing Plc' and their London address printed on it. There is no covering letter and no compliment slip. I was just wondering if it's a prize. I enter so many competitions tby Pippin - Off Topic Forum
Re: Very big change - 9 years ago
I don't need to know if I've entered or ignored - just as long as it's been struck through when I've finished with itby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
The loophole is still there. I would be really happy to divulge as any satisfaction I had in finding it has disappeared now. Ukinet, please advise.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Very big change - 9 years ago
I use Google Chrome which is brilliant because it remembers most of my personal information which saves a lot of time when I'm filling in competition forms. However, I'm not getting the strike through any more. The old system was perfect for me.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Hi ukinet. I'm still able to accumulate as many ladder points as I want. Please let me know again if you need me to say how I was doing it - I'm not sure if we're on the same wavelength. Of course I fully expect to have points deducted from my ladder score as they were hardly achieved fairly. The fun has gone out of it for me now. Keep up the good work.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Thanks miketerry. I was wondering when somebody would notice. About a month ago a group of you found a loophole that frustrated the hell out of me because I couldn't work out what it was until it was too late. I've now found my very own loophole and am biding my time until CC catches up with me! Think I'll just go and add another 1000 points to my ladder. Happy comping everyonby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Competitors Companion Word Search - July week 2 - 9 years ago
Okay. Traditional wordsearches don't require any general knowledge. Just literally finding words. Will have to be on the lookout for this in CC's wordsearches in the future.by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Re: Competitors Crossword Week 3 and 4 - 9 years ago
I noticed this too Deborah - but if you Google the 'mis-spelt' version of the word, it is recognised, for example on the BBC learning zone website. It's a much rarer spelling though.by Pippin - General Competition Chat

Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Special message for Den and Sully. I had a very frustrating May because like you two, I entered EVERY SINGLE COMPETITION but drifted farther and farther away from the leaders (you know who you are roly xx). But now I find myself at the top of the board, and I'm going to tell you how. Please read ukinet's post 'New ways to earn ladder points and CC coins' (he/she is the compby Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
I have stopped letting the ladder get to me, Deborah. Pre June, there was obviously something untoward going on, so anyone who wasn't 'in on it', including me, never stood a chance. I'm doing nothing different now than I have ever done - just entering the competitions!by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Thanks for clarifying that, ukinet. Will be following June's ladder with interest.by Pippin - General Competition Chat
Re: Ladder - 9 years ago
Even though I'm a competitive person, I've stopped letting the ladder get to me. I enter every single competition and, like you say roly, points are then added automatically. I end up literally hundreds of points behind you and certain others so there's obviously other ways to amass points, which I haven't discovered. The treasure hunt is beyond me so if that's how youby Pippin - General Competition Chat
