Winner - 8 years ago
I'd just like to acknowledge the great customer service for a prize I won last week. Delia Online had a competition to win a family ticket to a screening of a film at the Vue cinema near Leicester Square. I received the notification on Wednesday and asked if I could gift the prize to my sister and he family and asked if it was possible, as they're a family of 5, to purchase an extra tiby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Absolute Radio competition won - 8 years ago
Competitors Companion wouldn't be able to help, they only list the competitions, they have no control over the prizes and how they are distributed - apart from the ones listed under 'Ours' (which they do control but seem to mess up from time to time!).by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: New memeber - 8 years ago
Well, this has been a bone of contention with a few members, that the winners list hasn't been kept up to date. Or it could be that winners of the bigger prizes either don't bother to make their winnings public or that they don't use this site. My biggest win was £9,000 last summer, I don't know if that appears on the winners list but I did submit it for inclusion. Justby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Absolute Radio competition won - 8 years ago
Firstly, congratulations! I don't think you'd be wrong to call them again, not at all! Absolute have a current competition for a holiday to Philadelphia, winner being selected on Friday. Maybe they're waiting until they have both winners? Just a guess! My biggest win - from Channel 4 - took a long time and a lot of correspondence before I received my cheque. Re: Where in the world £25 cash prize winner - 8 years ago
Hi. Just wondering if you've had your winnings yet? My curiosity was reawakened when I noticed yesterday that I won last month's Rebus but haven't, as yet, received my cheque. Maybe they've only just noticed too! If it's not in this morning's post I may contact them.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Daily Quiz Questions - 8 years ago
Den, yes, I've just seen that too. I don't know where they've looked for their 'answers' but it certainly isn't the same place as me. Perhaps, as in November, the question is 'thrown in to cause some confusion'!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: My lucky morning - 8 years ago
An extract from Roget's Thesaurus: lot-ter-y 1. a gambling game or method of raising money, as for some public charitable purpose, in which a large number of tickets are sold and a drawing is held for certain prizes. 2. any scheme for the distribution of prizes by chance. 3. any happening or process that is or appears to be determined by chance: And didn'tby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Daily Quiz Questions - 8 years ago
You can't be having it all your own way! I don't think anyone will be upsetting Annette Duckworth's lead in the Riddle Race though. Well done Annette, don't know how you've done it but congratulations, you're sure to win this month!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Christmas - 8 years ago
The turkey and pudding are ready, the mince pies are nearly gone, the dog hasn't eaten the cats, I've just had a large glass of Amarula and all is right with the world (wish there was a alcohol-free version of Amarula, this is taking ages to type). I wish you all a very happy Christmas and hope that 2016 is kind to you (but not at my expense - I'm not that generous!) My bestby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Daily Quiz Questions - 8 years ago
'Oh well done and congrats on your successes in the Riddle Race and Where in the World. To get any consistent wins in those comps, it appears one has to be glued to CC for most of the day. Now that would agitate me, so I leave those alone. I have much more important things in my life.' Congratulations right back at ya Roly! Re: Where in the world £25 cash prize winner - 8 years ago
Sorry, it was a while since I had to contact them about a missing prize and I can't remember how long the response took. I don't think it was too long - but I'm knocking on a bit so the memory's not too reliable! Hope it turns up soon.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Daily Quiz Questions - 8 years ago
Roly, if it doesn't agitate you then you really do an excellent impression of an agitated person. And no, I don't spend a huge amount of time on here, hence my lowly position on the leaderboard. Recently had three weeks in New Zealand so I think I may have my life balanced pretty well. Oh,and the 'Where in the World' takes less than a minute.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Daily Quiz Questions - 8 years ago
You've mentioned this before. But it was ok when you were logging the Aussie, Kiwi & U.S. competitions. That, apparently, was ok. I believe it is a 'request' to not answer the daily quiz questions. I'm sure if it was vital 'they' would have blocked the possibility, as they did the registering of competitions in other countries. Swings & roundabouts dby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Incorrect answers - 8 years ago
For those of you who have had problems entering the World Tempus competition to win an Emile Chouriet watch, the web page is now up and running. However, be aware that the suggested answers seem a little suspect (surprise, surprise). C.C. offer: 1. Jean Depéry 2. Soleos 3. Re: Where in the world £25 cash prize winner - 8 years ago
Hi, I won last months quiz and have received the cheque already. Good luck contacting them, they're a nightmare. I've found the best way is to phone the office number: 01952 522000. It's done the trick in the past when they've forgotten to divvy up. Emailing seems to be a complete waste of effort. Hope you receive what you're owed soon.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Quiz 22/11 - 8 years ago
It looks like we've all drawn the same conclusion. Perhaps when 'they' relist all the questions at the end of the month they might correct the error. But, somehow, I doubt it.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Quiz 22/11 - 8 years ago
I contacted 'them' but really don't hold out much hope of having the problem remedied. I won't hold my breath!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Quiz 22/11 - 8 years ago
Has anyone answered today's question? If so, let me know. I'm not asking for the answer but the way I see it, someone at C.C. H.Q. has omitted the correct answer from the list. I could be wrong but I wouldn't be writing this if I wasn't sure that my answer is correct. (I could end up with egg on my face here!) Thanks.by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Postal entries - 8 years ago
Hi Big Al I was hoping that someone from C.C. would answer your question but, true to form, they're lying low. It seems we can write whatever we like on here as long as we don't expect a reply from 'da management'. I think I remember someone else asking a similar question a while back, back in the golden days when there was someone who replied to our queries, although Iby kevincharley - Suggestions
Re: Round the World Race - 8 years ago
Nope, not just you. The winners will be the ones who know how to do an image search and who log in umpteen times during the day to catch the competition being posted (unless there's some way of setting up an alert?). (See private messages) I hadn't noticed the new entry criteria but, like you, I'm left guessing as to how someone could post an answer before the question is askedby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: Free of Competititors Companion - 8 years ago
Looks like we're stuck on here for life! I got so tired of emailing and getting no response I gave up and now just use the report problem button which, we all know now, just sends your message into a large black hole - but it makes me feel better!by kevincharley - Off Topic Forum
Free of Competititors Companion - 8 years ago
Either C.C. have lost the plot or I have. Yesterday my membership expired. Or did it? Today my membership shows an expiry date of 28 September 2016. I believe it may be a punishment for all the messages I've sent them over the last few months concerning their errors which, I have to admit, have become more and more sarcastic over time. But as they never reply I think it's safe to assby kevincharley - Off Topic Forum
Quick Entry - 8 years ago
Has anyone else noticed that competitions which you've entered and have been crossed through are showing as not entered the following day? I thought at first it was my error but it's happening again and again - enough for me to know for sure it's not an error on my part. Anyway, this is the last straw for me. Re: Top prize winners - 8 years ago
Hi Ferne, welcome aboard. I enter competitions that aren't always listed on this site so I don't know which wins - if any - are a direct result of Competitors Companion. Over the last 3 or 4 years I've won several short breaks in the UK; holiday vouchers which secured a week long holiday in Scotland; shopping vouchers; a washing machine; a diamond ring; a diamond pendant; a silveby kevincharley - General Competition Chat
Re: My lucky morning - 8 years ago
If you open the 'Games' tab the details are there. It's a way to use the C.C. 'coins' and you have the chance to win a garden centre voucher or more coins. Good luck!by kevincharley - General Competition Chat
